If you read my post about the L'Oreal True Match Powder and Blush on clearance at Target, you will know that I wasn't very impressed with the color pay-off. I picked up anther L'Oreal True Match Powder and Blush set in a darker color (for when I actually get a little tan).
A few things that I didn't mention in my last post..
  • The blush in the Powder and Blush set is not full size. The full size is .21oz/6g. This blush is only .11oz/3.4g.
  • The cost of the full size blush ranges between $8.99-$10.99, depending on where you buy it.
The blush included with the L'Oreal True Match powder in Natural Buff N3 is the L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Blush in Innocent Flush N3-4. I can't help but think the name is a NARS Orgasm reference.. what do you think?
As I mentioned in my original post, the bottom opens to reveal a brush. This sample size blush does not have a mirror, but since the full size blush is about the same size as the powder, it might have a mirror.
I wanted to compare this blush to the shade that I originally bought.
Precious Peach coordinates with True Match shades Soft Ivory N1 (the powder from my original post) and Classic Ivory N2.
Innocent Flush coordinates with True Match shades Natural Buff N3 (the new powder I purchased) and Buff Beige N4.
Dupe
Precious Peach, Innocent Flush
I had to swatch Precious Peach over and over again to build up the color so it would be visible. Innocent Flush is slightly more pigmented, but I still found I had to build it up on my cheeks to make it noticeable. I like for the color to be a bit more noticeable, and these blushes provide a very natural, very light flush.
Once I built up Innocent Flush, I really liked the color on my cheeks!

Here are the swatches next to each other. Precious Peach is on the bottom, and Innocent Flush is on the top.
As you can see, Innocent Flush is similar, but definitely more pink, while Precious Peach is more.. peachy.
As far as staying power goes, it's not the best by itself. I like to apply cream blush and then a powder blush on top of it. I find it's about the only way that a powder blush stays put for a full 8 hour work day.

If you can still find the powder and blush that are packaged together, it's definitely worth picking up the set!
Innocent

I'm writing this blog post as it buckets down with rain outside, so it feels strange talking about spring skincare and makeup on such a wintery-feeling day. Nevertheless, the end of March heralds new beginnings as we jump into the fourth month of 2015 (where has the time gone!?), and there's nothing I like better than to recap some of the great products I used for a solid 31 days. Shall we begin?

A huge game-changer this month in my skincare routine was switching up my daily moisturiser. I had been using the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel since December, but as my skin has become slightly oilier, it was feeling a little too heavy. I read this rave review about the Bioderma Sebium Mat Moisturising Mattifying Fluid on the Escentual blog during one of my many browsing sessions, and quickly placed an order. It's a gel-based cream that mattifies and refines the surface of the skin, whilst still creating a comfortable base that feels thoroughly hydrated and nourished. It works brilliantly under makeup and is similar in texture to my beloved La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+, just a little more gel-like. It's non-comedogenic so it won't clog pores or exacerbate blackheads and pimples, and I'll definitely be getting a lot of use out of this during the summer months. £11.50 here.

Every ‘Monthly Favourites' post on my blog features a lip product or two, but this month I really was spoilt for choice, so there's three. First up is the Wet N Wild MegaLast Lip Colour in Bare It All (£1.86 here), a beautiful warm beige (and a great dupe for MAC's Honey Love), which has been a brilliant work-appropriate shade as it's matte and full-coverage without any fading or clinging to dry patches. Cheat codes for batman arkham city ps3.

Next is the NARS Audacious Lipstick in Raquel (£24 here), a beautiful peachy nude and a gorgeous colour to pair with a warm-toned smoky eye, which is the look I've been going back to constantly. Finally, I've been rocking a bright pink lip every now and then (shock horror). I'll always be a neutral girl at heart, but sometimes you need a pop of colour to liven up the complexion, and remind yourself that holiday season is only a few months away!

The Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick in Melted Fuchsia came in a Sephora value set and I wasn't particularly blown away with it, but after some fiddling with the applicator (I use a brush instead of applying straight from the tube), I adore it. It's a rich cool-toned pink that's verging on neon, but also wearable enough to avoid Barbie territory. Paired with a matte neutral eye and lots of mascara, it's a great way to add colour without looking gaudy, and with a tan I can imagine this looks even better. $21 here.

Last Monday I wrote about the gorgeous Melting Cleansing Balm from Merumaya in this blog post, and since I purchased it, it's been a staple on my skincare shelf. As the first step in my cleansing routine, this easily melts away makeup, impurities and general grime from the day, whilst giving my skin a thorough deep-clean and leaving it supple and ready for additionally treatments. It smells just like a spa and is the perfect product to unwind with after a long shift at work. You can use this simply with a warm washcloth for some light exfoliation, or before a facial wash, milk or gel to remove the residue – either way, it's awesome. £15.50 here.

I always seem to rave about the L'Oreal True Match Concealer, but I do it because of how brilliant it is at covering blemishes and neutralising redness, as well as brightening the under-eye area masking tired peepers. It's so affordable for such a creamy, pigmented, high-quality product, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for an all-purpose concealer that you can pop in your bag for touch-ups. I wear the shades 02 and 04, although 02 is perfect for me at the moment. £6.99 here.

Last, but certainly not least, is MAC's Blush Powder in Prism. I love this mauvey-nude blush for everyday and it's been getting so much use for work and more dramatic, evening looks. This is my current go-to blush and I'll be using this well into the months of April and May as it gives a beautiful healthy flush without looking too bright or OTT. £18 here. Daz 3d studio free.
